Game Rules
How each jogodobicho game works: when a bet is accepted, when the betting window closes, how the result is determined, what each bet type pays, what RTP means, and how anyone can verify a draw independently.
Some company details have not been provided yet and appear as “to be provided”. None were assumed: a made-up tax ID would be worse than a missing one.
1. Purpose and scope of these rules
This document describes the rules of the games offered by [to be provided], registered under CNPJ [to be provided], with its registered office at [to be provided], holder of authorisation [to be provided] granted by the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting of the Brazilian Ministry of Finance (SPA/MF), operating the jogodobicho brand on the domain jogodobicho.com.
These rules are published permanently and free of charge, accessible before any bet, with no registration required in order to read them. No bet is accepted unless these rules are available to the bettor at the moment the bet is placed.
These rules form part of the Terms of Use and must be read together with the Responsible Gambling Policy, the Privacy Policy and the Anti-Money-Laundering Policy. Where this document and a specific rule shown on a game screen diverge, whichever is more favourable to the bettor prevails.

2. Definitions
To avoid ambiguity, the terms below carry the meaning indicated throughout these rules. They are the same terms used on the game screens and in the account history.
The word bet always refers to an operation involving a financial stake by the bettor. Activity without a financial stake is called demonstration mode and produces no bet, no prize and no claim to credit.
- Bet: money placed at risk by the bettor on a future, uncertain outcome, at odds known at the moment of placing it.
- Odds: the multiplier applied to the amount staked in order to calculate the gross prize for the winning bet type.
- Draw: an event identified by an official date and time, which accepts bets until it closes.
- Prize: in jogo do bicho, each of the 5 result positions of a draw. Depending on context, it also means the amount paid to a winning bettor.
- Bet slip or bet record: the electronic receipt generated at the moment of acceptance, carrying a unique identifier, bet type, selection, amount and odds.
- RNG: random number generator, the mechanism that produces the result of games whose outcome does not depend on an external event.
- RTP: return to player, the percentage of the total amount staked that a game returns as prizes over its expected lifetime.
- Seed: a random value kept secret until the draw, from which the result is generated and against which it can later be re-checked.
- Demonstration mode: use of a game with credits that carry no economic value, with no stake, no prize and no conversion into money.
- Betting window: the interval during which a draw accepts bets.

3. Who may bet, and demonstration mode
Betting with money requires an account of your own, active and verified. We do not accept bets from anyone who has not completed registration and identity verification, nor from anyone who is self-excluded, suspended, or who has reached a responsible-gambling limit.
Demonstration mode is the only form of use available without registration. It exists so that a visitor can learn the mechanics before deciding. In that mode there is no financial stake by the bettor, the credits shown carry no economic value, there is no prize, and nothing that happens on screen generates credit, a withdrawal, or a claim of any kind.
The practical consequence is simple, and we want it written without hedging: a result obtained in demonstration mode cannot be claimed as a prize, because no bet was placed. The converse also holds: nothing that happens in demonstration mode consumes the balance of a bettor.
Moving from demonstration mode to betting with money is never automatic. It requires registration, verification and an express action by the bettor, and a first deposit is only possible once verification is complete.
- Minimum age of 18, verified at registration.
- A single, personal and non-transferable account, in the name and CPF of the bettor.
- Verified identity and a confirmed contact method before the first bet with money.
- No self-exclusion, suspension or legal impediment in force.
Legal basis: Lei 14.790/2023, art. 2º, I (a bet presupposes value at risk) · Portaria SPA/MF 1.231/2024, art. 31 § 6º (betting only after registration is completed) · Portaria SPA/MF 1.143/2024 (bettor identification for AML/CFT purposes)
4. Currency, minimum amounts and rounding
All bets, prizes and balances are expressed in Brazilian reais (BRL). Internally, amounts are recorded in whole cents, which prevents accumulated rounding error: there is no fraction of a cent anywhere in the system.
The minimum and maximum amount per bet are shown on the betting screen itself before confirmation, may vary by bet type and by game, and are the ones in force at the moment the bet is accepted.
When a prize calculation produces a fraction of a cent, the amount is truncated downwards to the whole cent. The criterion is always the same, for every bet type and every bettor, and it is written here precisely so that nobody has to infer it from a statement.
- Single operating currency: Brazilian real (BRL).
- Gross prize = amount staked multiplied by the odds recorded on the bet, truncated downwards to the cent.
- Minimum and maximum limits per bet shown before confirmation and applied at the moment of acceptance.
Legal basis: Lei 8.078/1990 (Consumer Protection Code), art. 31 (correct, clear and precise information about the service) · Portaria SPA/MF 1.207/2024 (technical requirements of the betting system)
5. When a bet is considered accepted
A bet exists only once the server records it and returns the receipt. Filling in the screen, pressing the button or seeing an animation is not enough: until the record is written with a unique identifier, there is no bet and no amount has been debited.
At the moment of acceptance, the bet type, the selection, the amount, the chosen draw and the odds applied are all recorded inseparably. The recorded odds are the ones that govern settlement, even if the odds table changes afterwards. This protects the bettor against any later alteration.
The debit of the amount staked and the creation of the bet record happen in the same atomic operation: either both occur, or neither does. There is no intermediate state in which money leaves the balance without producing a bet, nor a recorded bet without a corresponding debit.
- The bet is refused if the available balance is insufficient at the instant of recording.
- The bet is refused if the betting window for the draw has already closed.
- The bet is refused if any responsible-gambling limit set by the bettor is reached.
- Every accepted bet receives a unique identifier, viewable at any time in the account history.

6. Closing of the betting window and cancellation by the bettor
The betting window for each draw closes at the official time set for that draw. From that instant the system stops accepting bets for it, without exception and without manual leeway.
The criterion is server time, synchronised with a reliable time source, and not the clock on the device of the bettor. A bet sent seconds before closing is accepted or refused according to the instant at which the server receives and records it.
A bettor may cancel a bet and receive the full amount back while the three conditions below are all true at the same time. After closing there is no cancellation, and the reason is integrity: in draws whose result comes from an external official source, the number may become public before it is processed here, and allowing cancellation during that window would amount to letting a bettor undo only the losing bets.
Cancellation returns exactly the amount staked, with no deduction and no fee, and is recorded on the account statement with the same traceability as the original bet.
- The bet is still pending, meaning the draw has not been settled.
- The draw has not yet started.
- The official time of the draw has not yet arrived.
Legal basis: Lei 8.078/1990 (Consumer Protection Code), arts. 30 and 46 (binding force of the offer and prior knowledge of the conditions) · Portaria SPA/MF 1.207/2024 (system integrity and time control over bets)
7. RTP: return to player
RTP stands for return to player. It is the percentage of the total amount staked that a game returns as prizes over its expected lifetime. An RTP of 90 per cent means that, taken over a very large volume of plays, the game returns around 90 reais in prizes for every 100 reais staked.
It is essential to understand what RTP is not. It is not a promise about your session, your day, or your next hundred plays. It is a long-run statistical measure. In the short run an individual result may land far above or far below it, and that is the game working normally, not a defect.
RTP is disclosed per game, on the help or information screen of the game itself, and not in this document. The reason is deliberate: the RTP of each game may be adjusted within certified ranges, and a number written here could diverge from the number actually applied. We publish the value where it is read directly from the configuration in force, so that what is displayed and what is paid always have a single source.
No game offered for real money operates below the regulatory floor of 85 per cent RTP. Games are submitted for certification by a body recognised by the SPA before being offered for real money, and certification covers the RNG, the paytable and the RTP as actually implemented.
- The RTP of each game is shown on the information screen of that game.
- Regulatory floor observed: 85 per cent minimum RTP over the expected lifetime of the game.
- RTP changes occur only within certified ranges and take effect for future plays only.
Legal basis: Portaria SPA/MF 1.207/2024, art. 28 (minimum RTP of 85 per cent) · Portaria SPA/MF 1.207/2024, art. 5º (certification of games by a recognised body) · Portaria SPA/MF 300/2024 (accreditation of certifying bodies)
8. Jogo do bicho: the 25 groups
Jogo do bicho arranges the 100 possible tens, from 00 to 99, into 25 groups of 4 tens each. Each group has a number, from 01 to 25, and an animal that identifies it. The correspondence is fixed and does not change from draw to draw.
The table below is the single reference used to determine the group of any result. Note group 25, the only one that looks irregular: it gathers 97, 98, 99 and 00, because the ten 00 closes the cycle instead of starting a new one.
- Group 01 — Avestruz (ostrich): 01, 02, 03, 04

9. Jogo do bicho: how the result is determined and the 5 prizes
Each draw produces 5 prizes, numbered 1 to 5. Each prize is a 4-digit number, from 0000 to 9999, called the milhar. The prize in position 1 is the first prize, also called the head.
From each milhar, the other units of the game are derived by reading its digits directly. There is no hidden calculation: the centena is the last 3 digits, the dezena is the last 2, and the group is obtained from the dezena using the table in section 8.
The rule for converting a dezena into a group is arithmetic and always holds: divide the dezena by 4 and round up. The dezena 00 is the sole exception and corresponds to group 25. Thus dezena 04 belongs to group 01, dezena 96 to group 24, and dezenas 97, 98, 99 and 00 to group 25.
A worked example, so the reading leaves no doubt: if the first prize is 7503, then the centena is 503, the dezena is 03, and the group is 01, Avestruz, because 03 divided by 4 and rounded up is 1.
- Milhar: the 4 digits of the prize, from 0000 to 9999.
- Centena: the last 3 digits of the prize.
- Dezena: the last 2 digits of the prize.
- Group: obtained from the dezena, per the table in section 8.
Legal basis: Portaria SPA/MF 1.207/2024 (technical requirements and determination of the result) · Lei 14.790/2023, art. 2º, VIII (result determined by a random generator)
10. Jogo do bicho: bet types and odds
A bet may be placed on the head, competing for the first prize only, or cercada, competing across all 5 prizes. In the cercada form the chance of winning is five times greater and the odds are therefore divided by 5. Combination bets, duque and terno, and the inverted bets always compete across all 5 prizes.
Duques and ternos require the chosen elements to appear among the 5 prizes of the same draw, in any position and in any order. A duque requires 2 matches and a terno requires 3.
In the inverted bet types, inverted centena and inverted milhar, the bettor wins if the chosen digits come out in any order. Because this covers more combinations, the base odds are divided by the number of distinct orderings of the chosen digits. Repeated digits produce fewer distinct orderings and therefore higher odds: a centena with all digits different has 6 orderings, whereas 553 has only 3.
The odds below are those applied by default. They may be adjusted by the operator and, where that happens, the change applies to future bets only. The odds governing your bet are always those displayed on screen and recorded on the receipt at the moment of acceptance, never those that come into force later. Where this list and the odds recorded on your receipt diverge, the receipt prevails.
- Group on the head — wins if the group of the first prize is the one chosen. Default odds: 20 times.
- Group cercado — competes across all 5 prizes. Default odds: 4 times.
- Dezena on the head — the last 2 digits of the first prize. Default odds: 70 times.
- Dezena cercada — competes across all 5 prizes. Default odds: 14 times.
- Centena on the head — the last 3 digits of the first prize. Default odds: 700 times.
- Centena cercada — competes across all 5 prizes. Default odds: 140 times.
- Milhar on the head — the 4 digits of the first prize. Default odds: 7,000 times.
- Milhar cercada — competes across all 5 prizes. Default odds: 1,400 times.
- Duque of groups — 2 groups among the 5 prizes. Always cercado. Default odds: 20.5 times.
- Terno of groups — 3 groups among the 5 prizes. Always cercado. Default odds: 140 times.
- Duque of dezenas — 2 dezenas among the 5 prizes. Always cercado. Default odds: 350 times.
- Terno of dezenas — 3 dezenas among the 5 prizes. Always cercado. Default odds: 12,000 times.
- Inverted centena — the 3 digits in any order. Base centena odds divided by the number of distinct orderings.
- Inverted milhar — the 4 digits in any order. Base milhar odds divided by the number of distinct orderings.

11. Casino games with a random generator
Besides jogo do bicho, jogodobicho offers games whose outcome is determined by a random generator of numbers, symbols or figures, without depending on an external event. Each play is an independent event, complete in itself.
Independence between plays means the result of one play is not influenced by earlier ones. The game keeps no memory of losses to compensate later, it does not run hot, it does not run cold, and it owes nothing. Runs of losses or wins arise naturally in any random process and do not indicate that a game is due to pay.
Each game has its own rules screen, with the mechanics, the paytable and the RTP in force. That screen forms part of these rules. In games that simulate drawing balls or numbers from a container, the complete set is present from the start, and there is no re-mixing during the round unless the rules of the game expressly provide for it.
The permissible RTP ranges per game type are fixed in the code and are not editable at runtime: changing a range requires review and a new release of the system. Within the certified range, the value in force is always the one shown on the information screen of the game.
- The result is produced by a cryptographic RNG, never by the device of the bettor.
- No prize decision is taken in the browser or the app: everything is resolved and recorded on the server.
- Each play is independent of those before and after it.
- The paytable and the RTP in force are on the information screen of each game.
- Losing the connection does not alter a result the server has already produced.
Legal basis: Lei 14.790/2023, art. 2º, VIII (online game with result from a random generator) · Portaria SPA/MF 1.207/2024, art. 20 (games simulating the drawing of balls or numbers) · Portaria SPA/MF 1.207/2024, art. 28 (minimum RTP)
12. Public verification of the result
The result of every draw can be checked by anyone, with no account and with no authorisation from us. This is deliberate: a verification only the operator can perform verifies nothing.
The method is as follows. Before the draw we generate a random 32-byte seed using the cryptographic generator of the operating system. That seed is stored together with the draw. The result for each of the 5 positions is obtained by applying SHA-256 to the seed concatenated with the position number, taking the first 8 hexadecimal digits of the result, converting them to a number and reducing that number to the range 0 to 9999.
Because the procedure is deterministic, anyone holding the seed can reproduce exactly the same 5 prizes, as many times as they wish, with any SHA-256 implementation. Had a single digit of the result been altered after the draw, the reproduction would not match. The algorithm version is also recorded with the draw, so that historical draws remain verifiable even after the system evolves.
Public lookup is available for completed draws at jogodobicho.com, at the verification address indicated on the results page. Draws not yet completed do not expose the seed, since that would allow the result to be anticipated.
- Seed: 32 random bytes from a cryptographic source, published once the draw is complete.
- Algorithm: SHA-256 over the seed combined with the prize position number, with the version recorded on the draw.
- Reproduction: the same seed and the same algorithm always produce the same 5 prizes.
- Availability: verification is public and requires neither registration nor authentication.
Legal basis: Portaria SPA/MF 1.207/2024 (RNG, integrity and auditability of the result) · Portaria SPA/MF 722/2024 (information security and integrity of records) · Portaria SPA/MF 300/2024 (independent certification)
13. Technical failure, cancelled draw and refunds
If a technical failure prevents a draw or a play from completing normally, the principle is single and admits no exception: the bettor must not be harmed by a defect of ours. No failure on our side turns a valid bet into a loss.
When a draw is cancelled, all bets linked to it are refunded in full, with no deduction and no fee, and no prize is paid for that draw. The refund is automatic, credited to the originating account, and appears on the statement identified as a refund referencing the original bet.
If the failure occurs during a casino game play, the result recorded by the server governs. If the server completed the play, the result is valid even if the screen of the bettor froze or the connection dropped, and any prize is credited. If the server did not complete the play, the stake is refunded.
A play or bet cannot be charged twice. If a communication error produces a duplicate, the excess record is reversed and the amount refunded, with the correction visible on the statement.
- Cancelled draw: full refund of all linked bets.
- Play completed on the server: the result stands, even if the screen of the bettor failed.
- Play not completed on the server: full refund of the amount staked.
- Duplication from a technical error: reversal of the excess record and refund of the amount.
Legal basis: Lei 8.078/1990, arts. 6º, III and 20 (adequate information and liability for defective service) · Portaria SPA/MF 1.207/2024 (continuity, integrity and recording of operations)
14. Ties, disputed results and precedence of the record
In jogo do bicho there is no tie between bettors: each bet is assessed on its own against the result of the draw, and several bettors may win the same bet type without any of them receiving less. The odds are fixed and are not shared among winners.
Where what was displayed on screen diverges from what the server record shows, the server record prevails, provided it is intact and verifiable. A screen can fail, lag, or be tampered with on the device of the bettor; the server record is immutable once written and is audited. This rule also operates against us: we cannot invoke a faulty display to avoid paying what the record proves.
If a result is challenged, the bet remains pending until the review concludes, at no detriment to the bettor. The review consists of reproducing the draw from the seed using the procedure in section 12 and comparing it with the recorded prizes. If an inconsistency is confirmed, the draw is cancelled and all bets refunded under section 13. If consistency is confirmed, settlement follows the recorded result, and the bettor receives the working that allows the check to be repeated independently.
- Fixed odds: the prize is not divided among multiple winners.
- Where screen and server diverge, the intact server record prevails.
- Challenged result: the bet stays pending until conclusion, with cryptographic reproduction of the draw.

15. Complaints, deadlines and ombudsman
Complaints about the acceptance, result or settlement of bets may be submitted to customer support at [to be provided]. Please quote the bet identifier: with it the lookup is direct and the answer comes faster.
The deadline to complain about a specific bet is 90 days from the date of the draw. Bet records are retained for considerably longer, in accordance with the Privacy Policy and applicable law, so a complaint submitted within the deadline will always find the record available for review.
If the answer from support does not resolve the matter, the ombudsman is the second-instance channel, at [to be provided], and reviews the case independently of the team that answered first. For personal data matters, the data protection officer responds at [to be provided].
A bettor may turn to consumer protection bodies and to the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting of the Ministry of Finance at any time, without first exhausting our internal channels. Nothing in this document restricts that right.
- Customer support: [to be provided], first instance.
- Ombudsman: [to be provided], second instance and independent review.

16. Effect, amendments and version
These rules are at version 1.0, in force since 5 August 2026. Every change of content produces a new version with a new date, and earlier versions remain available for consultation, so that it is always possible to identify which text governed a given bet.
Material changes are announced with reasonable notice and never operate retroactively: a bet already accepted continues to be governed by the rules and the odds in force at the moment of acceptance, even if it is settled after a new text takes effect.
